Deacon Paul Amorino

Deacon Paul was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He earned a B.A. from Seattle University and an MPA from California State Fullerton. Paul married Arlene in 1969, served three years in the Army in Europe, and, after the service, moved to Orange County and raised three children. Paul worked for the Rancho Santiago Community College District until his retirement in 2007. Paul was ordained a deacon on April 30, 2005. He has served in La Purisima parish as a lay minister or deacon for the past 30 years

Dr. Anthony Bube

Born in 1922 and one of ten children, Deacon Tony grew up in Athens, Wisconsin on a farm. After serving 22 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, Tony became involved in public school administration for another 22 years, and has been on the staff at La Purisima School for the past 22 years. He and his wife Marion (who passed from this life in 2000) had 5 children, Michael, Terry, John, Cecilia and Mary. Deacon Tony was ordained in June 1984, and was La Purisima’s first deacon. He has been serving the parish ever since.

Deacon Tin Nguyen
Our newest deacon, Tin Nguyen was ordained May 21, 2011, to serve in his home parish, La Purisima.
Born in Saigon, Vietnam, Tin comes from a big family. They all escaped in 1975, his family being sponsored by St. Iraneus Church in Cypress, to begin their new life in America. After receiving his degree from UCI, Tin began his career and met his wife, Uyen-Lan in Santa Monica. They have two sons and a daughter. They manage to keep busy in ministries here at La Purisima and owe their gratitude to the support and love from many people of La Purisima Parish for the encouragment to enter the Diaconate program, and prayers to sustain them during the 4-year process.
